Who Does WinAbility Help?

Any person with a disability or requiring aged care can request help from WinAbility. We will provide help to all people regardless of their age, nationality, background, or spiritual beliefs.

WinAbility will assess each person who asks for help and will either offer or decline a support service based on the outcome of the assessment.

How Do I Get Started with WinAbility?

You will need to give WinAbility some information.

Give us a call or send us an email.

To help WinAbility understand your requirements, we will set up a meeting with you, your family, advocate and your current service provider.

This is to work out what assistance WinAbility will be required to provide for you.

When WinAbility is sure it has the best plan for you, we will advise you and your carers what services we will be able to provide to you.

This entails designating the right support worker to assist you and when that assistance will begin.

Our Promise to You

  • WinAbility staff will never talk about you or your problems with anyone that is not part of your person-centred planning process unless you give WinAbility permission to do so.
  • WinAbility staff will never talk about your needs in front of you unless you are included in the conversation.
  • WinAbility will never discuss issues about you in public.
  • You will always be included in any person-centred planning meetings or other meetings that involve delivering services to you.
  • WinAbility staff members will always treat you with dignity and respect. That means that WinAbility will ‘treat you as you would like to be treated’ by your friends and family.

WinAbility’s Person Centred Approach

Person-centred is an approach where you are being empowered to make your own decisions and have optimal control over your life and service. Your quality of life is important to us, and we want to make sure our staff can help you in various aspects of your life, such as:

  • Participating in household & community activities
  • Building relationships with other people who are important to you
  • Having choice in all aspects of life and building your independence
  • Maintaining your sense of dignity & respect
  • Feeling that your culture, differences, values & beliefs are being respected
  • Using and developing your relevant skills and knowledge.
  • To support your hobbies and personal interests.

We Offer a Person-Centred Plan that Works with Your Specific Lifestyle Needs.

  • Your Person-Centred Care Plan shows WinAbility staff how to help you achieve your goals.
  • The Plan will include items that you want, and what WinAbility staff can do for you. Things that you would like to do, want to learn and the places that you would like to visit.
  • The Plan will explain how to reach your goals; explain what your responsibilities are and what you will have to do. It will also contain information on who will be assisting you to reach your goals and when you can expect to achieve what you have planned to do.
